A Farce in Three Quarter Time
A Farce in Three Quarter Time

By Charlotte Perry

The stage is set, the house lights are dimmed.
The spot light is on me, and the play begins.
No cue cards, please, I know my lines too well.
As usual my audience falls under my spell!
I captivate and scintillate, I am a sensation!
Three cheers for me, I deserve an ovation.
My performance is flawless, as anyone can see.
Alas! I've played the part so long and so well,
Everyone thinks it's just me, being me!
