For My Best

Tears stream down my face
As I realize that you are my friend
Patti Labelle sings the song
With the emotion that I feel at this very second
My friendship with you is my weapon
Against a life of hard-heartedness
And solitude.
I've been known to be rude
Blunt, and separated from reality
But you have helped me to see
That it is alright to just be me.

Separated by miles, it is clear

That nobody can take your place

I share with you my heart and soul

Knowing that you are the friend that I prayed for

Taking my good and bad secrets to your grave

It’s my dying spirit and heart

That you managed to save.

Never thought I would love another

But your advice was to love freely

No cover charge

You showed me exactly how to enlarge

My heart to its full extent

And now I have found the man

With whom my life is to be spent.

And you still guide me from miles away

My best is what you will always stay

For you taught me true friendship

You taught me to love anyway.
I miss you friend to that there is no contest
Because when I put it all on the scale
Of all the people in my life you are the best.
Rest
In the knowledge that I am here for you
There is no time or distance that could keep me from you
And there is nothing for you that I would not do.
I guess the best way to say it is
Nigga, I love you.
And although it sometimes seems hard to get through

I won’t let anybody hurt you

This poem is a clue, to all those that have tried to

Keep messing with my girl and you’ll have your due.

So Robbie, know that only God himself can separate us
Because he is the one that put us together, trust
That I won't be going any where
Because I care, more than you are aware
And I will always be there for you.
You can make it, hey we both can
But we gotta understand
That in each other we have a forever friend.
