We live in a small and diverse neighborhood in
Decatur, Georgia. Our house is close to the
mass-transit line, and it’s a short ride to the restaurants, museums and theaters in downtown Atlanta. Decatur also has a thriving downtown with a small town feel. When we were looking for a house two years ago, we knew we wanted to live in an area that would be ideal for starting a family. The quiet tree-lined streets are perfect for walking to the nearby parks to play with other children. A small restaurant district with a pizza parlor and burger place is literally just around the corner. We can also walk down to the community garden where neighborhood families take part in planting vegetables and raising chickens. All the public schools are nearby, so we’ll be able to walk our child to kindergarten.
