If you drive down our street on any given afternoon, these are the faces you are likely to see. They are happy faces...especially if crackers abound...even more especially when they find Daddy's Triscuits hiding behind the Mama's Rye-Barley-Oat-Flax-Millet-Cardboard ones. Peter (far right) lives next door and Miko (middle) is just around the corner. It's really too bad that neighbor profiles aren't listed on MLS. We love our house, but we hit the jackpot with our neighbors.

Today the kids discovered Grandma's Grandma's button box.
Everyone should have a Grandma's button box. Dylan has officially been schooled in sewing on a button. Though he and Eager-Avery quickly moved on to stringing button jewlery.

Lots of fun came with Dylan's fifth birthday. He really didn't want a birthday party...he doesn't like being the center of attention...but he really DID want a Pinata. We spent the week layering the paper mache, painting, and dreaming up what would fill his pinata. I made one too (both hot air balloons). In the end, Dylan invited his neighbor Peter to help with the honors...feeling fairly confident though not entirely sure that this was not party.

Both of the kids are finally embracing my love of crafting. Greg's not sure what he thinks but I love having craft buddies in my own house. I think both the kids like sewing the best. Avery "sews" yarn through cardstock cut-outs and Dylan (having mastered stooting stars and gnomes) is moving on to embroidery. Avery really likes decorating crowns of any sort (see picture). Its also been a fun week because a birthday gift of wooden play clips has re-inspired indoor tent (fort) building.
