Dylan has been riding his Skuut now for 9 months and still loves it. But last week, Dylan learned to ride a fancy new 16" bike WITHOUT training wheels. He learned right away and now only needs a little help getting started if the pedals aren't in the right position and again to support the bike when he gets off. Watching him ride his big kid bike is so much fun...and makes me want to cry at the same time. But, for those of you unfamiliar with a balance bike like the
SKUUT(watch the video on the website if you're curious and let me know if you see one in Greg's size. His birthday's coming up)....it really is the way to go. Training wheels are for dummies. I suppose I should buy stock if I'm going to start shamelessly promoting stuff....

After a scorching hot week...one day hitting 100...we're back to a normal Oregon spring. Or maybe THIS IS a normal Oregon spring...lots of teasing...and lots of everything under the sun (or clouds). The kids don't care. They're just so excited to have matching puddle boots and umbrellas. Who says the Hydes aren't ALL ABOUT FASHION?

Throwing rocks together into the quarry at Lewisburg Saddle.

Sharing sillies on a rock after the hike. Aka stalling before the inevitable car ride home.

The family together all weekend. A marvel of Mother's day!
Tonight is a very quiet night. Grandma Johnson has been visiting for a bit over two weeks. Grandpa Johnson ("Poppy") made it for a long weekend. The grandparents had to leave this evening, but the kids are still beaming from ear to ear. They are also passed out cold like only kids can..especially after a long visit of nonstop entertainment. So so happy. Wish grandparents could be here all the time.
