For the past week, Avery has been sick which means she needed almost constant comforting. It's been exhausting for the whole family. For almost two weeks, Max (my aunt and uncle's dog) has been living with us. Max is a good dog, but he needs almost as much attention and supervision as a sick infant. Lance would argue more. Today we celebrated because Avery, for the first time since getting sick, spent more than 5 consecutive minutes being happy and Max went home. Avery and Dylan helped me make cookies. Making cookies, and singing and dancing around the house are usually how I celebrate. Luckily, I don't have any video of me singing and dancing around the house.
We've been in our new house for two weeks, and though we still have some boxes scattered about and we still can't seem to remember where the pot holders are (or maybe they don't have a home yet) I'm finally starting to feel pretty settled. A few images to catch you up.
We live in a fairly urban university neighborhood, at least as small towns go. But it's hard to complain when this bike path is about a 1/4 mile from the house. It looks out over Mary's Peak and the coast range.
Now that Dylan is scooting everywhere on his balance bike, Avery is having some stroller exposure. Her preference however is now to travel by foot and walk the dog. She's actually covered considerable distance with Lance's leash in hand. Lance lived with Elizabeth and Larry in Gresham while we were in the apartment. It is clear that Avery missed Lance more than any of us. I'm not sure he missed Avery so much.
Our family room is now furnished. But on Halloween afternoon, when we took possession of the house, our family room made a great dance floor and echo chamber. The kids had a blast.

Avery is a silly goose and she loves the camera. Not so much the picture taking...just the camera.
Baby's got wheels. And our house has a race track.
Dinner always tastes better when mooched from Daddy's lap.
