Avery's first camping trip was a big success! We spent 3days and 2nights at Nehalem Bay State Park with our friends Tom and Sara and their almost 2 year old son Ethan. The toughest part was jamming our growing family (don't forget 80lb Lance) into our trusty corolla. The camp gear is the least of our woes! In the end, we were rescued from our tight squeeze when Ethan invited Dylan to ride with him in their not-so-compact Highlander. Avery is a born camper. She slept the whole drive to and from the coast and dreamed peacefully in the tent as well. Her only complaint was the wind...and who could really blame her? None of the other 3 week olds have wind-burned cheeks. Dylan loves the sand this year and Ethan showed him all about fun with sand toys. Greg and Tom managed 3 surf sessions. Tom learned to surf on perfect waves in Santa Barbara. I'm not sure Greg convinced him that this 50 degree Oregon mush is all its cracked up to be! Hopefully he'll give it another try. As for us...We can't wait to get back to the beach.

Being a baby is sleepy work!

Dylan is a champion big brother!

Welcome Baby Avery!
We are busy this week celebrating our growing family!
Avery arrived July 1st at 10:15pm. 7lb 4 oz and 19.5in long.
Dylan has been a champ and will happily announce "I'm a big brother-this is my new baby sister!"
The birth really was beautiful and we're all doing great.
Something tells me that our blog posts might just pick up a bit!
She already loves the sling and I can type with 2 hands!
