Elderly Natchitoches man reported
missing
NATCHITOCHES -- Natchitoches police
are searching for an elderly Natchitoches man who was reported missing
Friday by family members.
August "Gus" Baxter, 83, of 1507
Barclay Drive was reported missing to Natchitoches police by his
grandson, Erik Peters, who told police Baxter was last seen at his
residence Thursday evening when he reportedly went to sleep.
The grandson went to check on Baxter
on Friday morning and was unable to locate him. Baxter was last seen
wearing a blue plaid shirt and blue jeans. He reportedly suffers from
some form of memory loss.

Missing elderly man found dead
NATCHITOCHES -- Police found the
body of August "Gus" Baxter, 83, on Friday afternoon in Cane River Lake.
Baxter's family had reported last
seeing him Thursday night when he was seen going to sleep at his home.
On Friday morning, family members couldn't find Baxter and reported him
missing to police.
His body was sent to Bossier City
for an autopsy.
