"Flowing
in the Spirit"
Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life and have
it more abundantly." This abundant life is evident in the
believer who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and
knows how to yield to a life that is "flowing in the Holy
Spirit."
It has been my experience that many non-believers and believers
alike will admit to experiencing weariness, and a loss of physical
strength at some point in life. The problem is not weariness and
loss of physical strength, rather the problem is the frequency
that a person has this experience. On His journey to Samaria,
the bible says that Jesus became weary and sat by the well. Notice
His weariness came from a trip that He had traveled approximately
50 miles. Unlike many people Jesus was not tired from the circumstances
and situations of life, He was tired from the journey he had taken.
You should never be tired from circumstances and situations that
try to suck the life out of you. This is a device and scheme of
the devil to destroy your life. He knows if he can weaken you
physically and mentally, it is easier for him to defeat you. You
are not defeated, the devil is the defeated foe (Colossians 2:15).
Your victory comes not from external circumstances, but it is
recieved by faith and manifests by flowing in the spirit.
What do I mean by flowing in the Spirit. At regeneration, (salvation)
a new believer is sealed by the Holy Spirit. He comes to indwell
the believer. The old life and old nature that you once had as
a sinner is exchanged for a new life and a new nature. That newness
of life is found in Christ and is lived by the beiliever yeilding
to the power and control of the Holy Spirit (the filling of the
Holy Spirit).
Therefore when the believer rejects the old life and acknolwelge
being dead to the old life and old nature (Galatians 2:20), he
can then live a new life, life that is flowing in the Spirit.
Instead of living out of your physical strength and being, you
live out of your new life; the life of Christ in the spirit. It
is a life where you don't experience weariness and physical drain
becuase you are no longer striving according to your own might,
but you strive according to His power which mightly works within
you (Colossians 1:29).
" For this purpose also I labor, striving according
to His power, which mightily works within me." NASU
As a believer, you are a spirit being in a human body, therefore
you live out of your natural normal new life, life in the Spirit.
You cannot become tired and weary due to external circumstances
becuase external things does not control you, you are controlled
and moved by the Holy Spirit. This is how you flow in the spirit,
yeilding only to the Holy Spirit and the things that He uses to
move you and not anything or anyone else.
