The Alabama Therapeutic Foster Care Providers Association (ATFCPA) is dedicated to promoting more consistent and quality treatment services for therapeutic foster care children.
There are over 5,000 children in foster care in Alabama.
Anyone familiar with foster care and foster children knows that when a child moves or travels, they usually must place their belongings in plastic garbage bags or broken down cardboard boxes.
In keeping with the spirit of this year's conference-Working Hand-in-Hand-we are asking that all attendees bring a suitcase to be donated to foster children across the state. This suitcase can be large or small, new or used.
Let us all work hand-in-hand to provide these children with a small amount of dignity during what can sometimes be a traumatic time.
Special Thanks
The Montgomery Area Association of Realtors/MLS has collected hundreds of suitcases for Alabama's foster children. There will be a special presentation to State Commissioner Bill Fuller during the luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002.
