Tallow Wood Stud was established in 1967 - however my father was reputedly informed when I was 6 years old - "When I grow up I am going to breed horses" so actually in my mind and my dreams it was established a very long time before then
I was lucky enough to grow up " in the bush around horses" and it is where I "feel best"
The present location of the stud is in South East Queensland - perfectly balanced by extensive flats where horses both young and old can play and gallop - and steep timbered hills with stony out crops that create agility good wind and sure footedness
The Mares with Foals are kept in the safety of the flat paddocks until the babies are old enough to cope with the "wild country"
Young Horses become familiar with all types of terrain and the 'natural obstacles" as they grow and develop on the property
The 60's and 70's were filled with Joy at " Tallow Wood Stud " as the girls in the Family grew in stature and ability with breeding training riding and competition - and their "Love of Horses"
The knowledge and understanding gained from learning to "survive" and be fit and well has been considerable over the last 15 years and I am more than happy to share it with anyone who wishes to contact me
