Our Rector

ABOUT OUR RECTOR


The Rev. Dr. Louis R. Tarsitano was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago in 1977. He is a graduate of Quigley Preparatory Seminary; Elmhurst College (B.A., English); the University of Cincinnati (M.A., English); Seabury-Western Theological Seminary (M.Div.); and Whitefield Theological Seminary (D.Min.)

Canonically resident in the Diocese of the Eastern United States, Anglican Church in America, Dr. Tarsitano and his family moved to Savannah in 1995, when he was elected rector of St. Andrew’s Church. Besides serving other parishes in Illinois, Colorado, South Carolina, Missouri, and Georgia; he has been a university lecturer in rhetoric, literature, and ethics.

The author of
An Outline of an Anglican Life, and with his friend Dr. Peter Toon of The Way, the Truth and the Life, Dear Primates, Neither Archaic nor Obsolete, and Neither Orthodoxy nor a Formulary, Dr. Tarsitano is a former Associate Editor of Touchstone, “a Journal of Mere Christianity”, and a frequent contributor to other publications. In Savannah, he also teaches English composition and literature at South University.
