the grace of Jesus Christ for living

Saint Andrew’s is a Christian congregation living the Anglican Way: an absolute dependence on the grace of Jesus Christ, crucified and resurrected, for salvation unto eternal life; an absolute trust in divine revelation, God’s Word Written in the Holy Scriptures; and a permanent commitment to the Apostolic faith and practice of the ancient and undivided Church.

A free and independent congregation in the Anglican or Episcopal tradition, Saint Andrew’s was founded under the leadership of the Rev. Mr. Ernest Risley in 1969 to serve a very particular need.

Mr. Risley and the other founders of St. Andrew’s foresaw the present turmoil in civil and religious life and determined that it made more sense simply to be the Church (as Christ commanded) than to waste time and energy in useless denominational battles. All faithful servants of Jesus Christ are our brethren, and we serve him in the particular way that we do because it is our particular calling to do so, the best that we know how. We find this a very congenial calling, indeed.

All Are Welcome

All who know our Lord Jesus Christ, or who wish to meet him, are welcome at Saint Andrew’s Church. Our rector (pastor) and our people are always willing to share the faith once delivered with the saints.

For thirty years, we shared that faith at 112 Montgomery Street, in Savannah’s Historic District. In the fall of 2002, seeking room to grow and a more central location, we moved our ministry to our present spacious campus, centered on the new Saint Andrew’s Church at 608 Hampton Street. We hope that you will consider making our new home your new home for good fellowship and the worship of God Almighty.
