About The Pastor
Greater Victory Temple
Bishop Larry J. Conner and Elder Chandra R. Conner, the founders and organizers of Victory Unto Victory Revivals Inc. Bishop Conner is married to the lovely Elder Chandra R. Conner. Bishop Conner was born on 22 August 1959, in Houston, Texas and is the proud son of Roy and the late Betty Jewel Conner. Bishop Conner was converted early in life and attended the Saint Agnes and Rosesharon Missionary Baptist Churches in Houston TX., as a Junior Deacon.
In 1980, while attending Revelation Missionary Baptist Church, he was ordained a Deacon. After being taught the word of God concerning the baptism in Jesus name he was baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit gave the utterance in May 1984. Later that year, he began his Christian ministry by being presented before the Board of Elders for ministerial exhorter's license and later his Ministers license from the Revival Way House of Prayer Inc., In Baumholder, Germany. After constant laboring in the gospel, Bishop Conner was ordained, under the Revival Way Ministries as an Elder in 1986. He continued under the senior pastors and elders at Revival Way Ministries until he was transferred to Fort Benning, Georgia. There, he joined with and served as an Associate Elder with The Church of The Living God Jesus Christ Apostolic, Columbus, Georgia.
Again, his military duties required him to be reassigned to Fort Polk, Louisiana. During that time, Bishop Conner conducted revivals in various cities throughout the United States: (Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma just to name a few). This is where Bishop Conner first was inspired to conduct Victory unto Victory Revivals using 1 John 5: 4-5 as the theme scripture. As he traveled Bishop Conner felt the need to affiliate with an organization. He Co-founded The Bibleway, Growing in Faith Ministries in Oklahoma. In 1991 and in 1992, the enemy attempted to take Bishop Conner's life, but on both occasions the Lord had Minister Conner to take authority over the situation and called Bishop Conner's spirit back into his body.
In 1992, his military duties beckoned him to Frankfurt, Germany. Bishop Conner, while in Germany joined a local Pentecostal Assembly of the World congregation. Immediately, the Lord blessed Bishop Conner to continue evangelizing the American churches in Germany. Bishop Conner conducted revivals in Baptist, COGIC, and Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW) Churches throughout Germany and Italy. All the aforementioned revivals were conducted under the scripture 1 John 5: 4-5 as a Victory Unto Victory Revival under the Growing in Faith Ministries International Evangelistic Team. The team had grown to from just Bishop and Minister Conner to seven fill-time members and included a musician, praise team and altar team. The anointing and the move of God in all the services greatly encouraged the saints in Germany during a time of turmoil for American troops overseas. The saints in Germany traveled 50 to 60 miles to attend Bishop Conner's miracle revivals.
As the military community in Frankfurt closed, Bishop and Minister Conner were stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In November 1995, God impressed upon Bishop and Minister Conner to incorporate the Ministry Victory unto Victory Revivals Inc., and start the first church under the Ministry. Victory Apostolic Temple (VAT), 1505 SE Skyline Drive, Lawton, OK, was established as the first church on March 3, 1996. The first service was held in the Howard Johnson Hotel banquet room with three families. Victory Apostolic Temple's Sunday and Friday services were held in a banquet room at the Howard Johnson hotel at 1125 Gore Blvd., Lawton, OK, and Tuesday bible study at their home in the garage. The Congregation has grown and the Organization has also grown from one church to five.
In the vision, in October 1995, God gave Bishop Conner the vision of an organization where hurting saints and sinners could find a place of refuge. Where they are restored, healed and delivered from the traditions and rudiments of men and a place where the people were free to praise the Lord in the Holy Ghost. To teach the people faith in God in every area of their lives in order to live a saved, sanctified, and victorious life, but, also the fullness of the Godhead according to Acts 2:38 & Colossians 2:9. A place to learn that victory is in obedience to the Lord and that obedience to the word of God is the victory that overcomes the world. Bishop Conner's vision for the organization includes churches throughout the world, a youth outreach center and daycare, a full-time Christian school and an Apostolic Bible College, homeless veterans ministries, local prison ministries, and nursing and retirement home ministries.
In the last year we have saw a mighty move of God in the church and many souls saved, sanctified, baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. Bishop Conner and Greater Victory Temple's aim is to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a holy nation, a chosen generation, a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
With divine direction from God, "Greater Victory Temple-Houston, of The Apostolic Faith" is off and running for the Lord!.
