The idea that life begins at conception is arbitrary and politicized. Gametes are alive, but nobody is asserting an obligation to ensure that each one must necessarily become a child. Oddly, the majority of "right to life" organizations also oppose sex education, and their position on stem-cell research is utterly unfathomable.
Good fiction often reveals a more general or timeless truth than nonfiction. Amazon.com's inclusion of both fiction and nonfiction in this category is just bad indexing.
