If "The Bible" is the word of God, why are there so many versions? Good question! Please read "The Canon of Scripture" by Michael Marlowe for a brief, factual account by a conservative Baptist who believes in inerrancy and therfore, presumably, semantic hair-splitting. It's a good, instructive, summary that shouldn't upset anyone too much.
