Recommended The Bandy Papers - Donald Jack is one of the most underrated (virtually unknown) humorists there is. The adventures of Canadian pilot Bartholomew Bandy in WWI and beyond are some of the most hilarious shenanigans between two covers. There are at least nine installments, all side-splittingly funny, yet they've been released by small publishers without a lot of fanfare, and have barely raised a blip on anybody's radar screen. When you're wondering what to get for the man (or woman) who has everything, you'd be hard pressed to do better than Three Cheers for Me (Volume One of the Bandy Papers). Order early and read it yourself. (You wouldn't want to giive that special someone a dud gift, would you?) THEN, when they inevitably buy the full set, you can borrow them! Douglas Adams - Somewhat incongruously categorized as "Science Fiction and Fantasy" (Surely Zaphod Beeblebrox is real?) The Hitchhiker's Guide popular in the '70s is reaching a whole new audience since the release of the film version. | ||||||
