Mobile Area & Pensacola Post-Polio Support Groups

The weather was perfect for having 32 people for a joint meeting at the Neil's home in Lillian AL. This was a first for the Mobile and Pensacola groups to get together with the exceptions of camp and a few Dr. Peach meetings. Shirley and Jim Neil (and their Scottie, Katie) had invited both groups to gather at their home and share/exchange ideals and put names to some faces. The Halloween ghosts had decorated the house and prepared such a nice spread of food and drinks for all!

Upon arrival we were given name tags and shared the “goodies” - introduced ourselves and which group we were from. Happy Birthday was sung to Pat Kaderly!!

Reps, Patty Nelson and Ken Godwyn, from Gulf States Mobility shared information on their business located at 1436-B West I-65 Service Road, Mobile (251-422-2678). We appreciate them giving their time to come and answer questions or help solve any kind of problems one might encounter.

Victoria Glass gave us an update on gathering questions for her project, Post-Polio to Dr. Richard Bruno and Dr. Paul Peach. She said her next assignment will be “Conflict and Conquer” so be thinking of things we all seem to do without knowing it was a challenge....we just do it “our way” so it will work.

Shirley and Jim gave tours throughout their home on how they had made it accessible, including their camper outside. They said they do a lot of research before starting a project and if you need any information feel free to give them a call.
