Notes from the January meeting....Patsy Adams reporting

Sylvia Bern greeted 14 people to start our New Year meeting January 28, 2006.
Clara Norsworthy shared booklets from "Polio Connection of America".
It was so good to see everyone since we don't have meetings during November and December (with exception of our December lunch). It was especially nice to see Jim and Shirley Neil, Ed and Joy Gecci and report they are doing well. Joy brought a couple of get well cards for us to sign and she would mail to Iris Page and Helen Tidmore.
Vera Moore sent greetings but needed to have a bit more rest. I imagine Sonny would be watching a ballgame, since the Senior Bowl was televised.
Sylvia reported visiting Dorcas Howard with an update on her surgery. She hopes to be back with us soon.
Opinions on flu, pneumonia and tetanus shots were discussed. The question came up as to how long are they good for?
Charles Gollott spoke with Sally Green, President of Mobile Medical Museum about the upcoming polio display in April. They have located an iron lung (loaner) to be displayed. He urged ALL to come.
We agreed with Pensacola on CAMP ASCCA dates to be May 5th, 6th and 7th.
Some of the members that are usually present were missed and hope they and other members will try to be with us in February. We urge you to come and share the time and fellowship.

Notes from the January meeting.... Leigh Dethlefs reporting

Our January meeting was the usual rainy winter day, but we had 10 brave souls to come. Clara Norsworthy let us know what our choices were for camp this year. It feels like a long time since we have been and we are all looking forward to it again. It's hard to explain to anyone who has never been what a good time we have and how many doors are opened for us as far as doing things we have never done before.
We also discussed the options that are out there to make things easier. When we buy new furniture we now have to look at how easy it is to sit down and get back up. Even with appliances, how easy is it to get to everything in the fridge and do we have to sit on the floor to do it. Even in the automobile purchase, can we get in and out easy enough and how accessible it is to drive. So many things to decide on how to make life easier.
We hope to see everyone at our February 18th meeting and we hope it will be an early spring.
