This tutorial is about one of the most common sources of frustration for people who are new to Animation Master, and indeed to 3D modeling in any program. What to do when you try a simple lathe and it goes horribly wrong. I've done that, and so has just about everyone when they started out with A:M.
The reason is simple. The first law of the chemistry lab is: Hot glass looks just like cold glass.
The first law of 3D modeling: When you look at the X-Y plane, you can't tell where the points are along the Z axis. Or, to put it simply, your model looks flat from the front view. Ditto for the back, left, right, bottom, and top views. You need to glance at the bird's eye view once in a while. Many prefer to keep a window in bird's eye view all the time.
Here's step one. Everything is going smoothly so far. The candlestick and candle have been lathed without a hitch. It's a beautiful thing. Until . . .
