A common problem that users of Animation:Master encounter is that of connecting fingers to hands and toes to feet. Getting legal patches to render is not hard; the trick is to do it with little or no creasing.

As a typical example, look at this creature foot I modeled a while ago as part of the beasts in M.C. Escher's "Gravitition". I was trying to model it without too many creases, but clearly I didn't succeed very well. I have since discovered a simple method of avoiding creases when attaching digits. I decided to test it by going over the Gravitation beast's foot to see if my method actually makes any improvement. The foot on the right demonstrates that my new method really works!

I'm not the first to use this technique, but I want to explain it systematically for everyone who hasn't discovered it. I discovered it for myself through trial and error. It's useful for modeling hands and feet without creases in particular, but it should help in avoiding creases in A:M models in general.
