This is only a sampling of the fish that I used in the show ring. I was only able to photograph a few fish before sending out to shows as I was kept busy with the breeding, transhipping & being a busy mom! After finding some time to sort through all my burned CD pictures from the old computer, I am finally able to repost some of my award fish and make sure they are the correct pictures (after being requested some were incorrectly posted by my hubby that was trying to help out and someone took advantage of that)! Unfortunately my busy life left me unable to go through these discs sooner. The 3rd fish from left on top was never shown but is the grandfather of the Copper HM that won BOD and my Copper STF below. This Copper line comes from my very first pair of bettas ever purchased in 2004 (and were show winners as well) from Victoria Stark (BettySplendens). If you note above that I had a lot of STF wins, my Copper females were easier to show as most of my males ended up as breeders b/c they would almost always blow a fin before a show :oP I always had excellent fish from this line and later crossed Sanya Ponpal's Copper female as well as a Copper HM from Sarawut (Siamimbellis) into this line! My Yellows and Chocolates originated from a Chocolate pair of bettas that I purchased overseas. Later I crossed some of Sarawut's Yellows into the Yellow lines. But my Chocolates continued to throw Yellow & Chocolate and I crossed the Yellows (from my Chocolate line) with the Sarawut Yellow. My Blues (which threw Blue, Turquoise & Steel) originated from a pair purchased overseas from Sarawut. He has some incredibly gorgeous fish and all of my lines have been crossed with or originated from his fish at some point. I always purchase DT or HM (his fish carry DT) from him and breed to STF females. I eventually outcrossed a Blue HM from Patsayawan into my Blue Sarawut line. They consistently threw solid irid bettas that were Blue, Turq & Steel. My favorite line to work (besides my Coppers) was my Marbles. Originating from an overseas pair (and I can't remember the Seller) and constantly outcrossed with any colored females from my solid lines, you can cross just about anything solid with marble and get beautiful fish (but the line will always carry marble)! I ended up with marbles & solids and some that morphed later from one to the other. My Platinum bettas originated from a pair of fish purchased from Sarawut and were outcrossed a couple of times to other Platinums purchased overseas (varying sellers). I did outcross to some of my marbles as well as a beautiful Pastel from Sanya Ponpal and got a wonderful line that threw some amazing Pastels. All of these lines continued with outcrossing to overseas purchases every 4-6 months or so. Eventually they were all discontinued with my Coppers being the last to go. Unfortunately I had to take a hiatus from fish altogether but when I start up again, I will definitely get my breeders from the same breeders/sellers that I originally purchased from. I have obtained fish from US breeders but with the exception of my fish from Victoria Stark, none of them produced offspring that were worthy to keep in my breeding lines. I was fortunate enough back closer to 2004-05 to be able to get fish from Marianne in British Columbia and produced some splendid Oranges!! I only wish that I were still able to get some fish from both Marianne & Victoria. But hopefully Victoria will be back in the US shortly (we all miss her)!
I am also posting pictures of BOTH the Copper BF CTM fish that is mine (shown in the shows) and the Copper BF CTM that was purchased from AB from Vinita so that anyone in doubt can see with their own 2 eyes before making any damaging conclusions, that they are not the same fish. And I am also posting these for my lonely, green fixated friend :o) Hopefully there will be some fresh changes in IBC soon and I will return to the show ring again!
Purchased from AB (Easter gift from the
hubby) (not shown, but spawned instead)>>>>
