Benedict G. ScottPROFILEMr. Scott is a senior information management professional with international experience. His primary objective is to help clients make better use of information by developing strategies which enhance the integrity, security, and availability of data as a major organizational resource. His academic accomplishments include: course work toward a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Adelphi University, research in Numerical Analysis and Computability, an MS in Mathematics from New York University, a BS in Management and Systems from New York University, teaching at university and high school levels, and authoring professional development seminars. For the past three years, Mr. Scott has focused on Linux, Perl, C, C++, My-SQL, HTML, CSS, and shell scripting. Some areas of special interest include: Linux installation, Linux administration, Linux network and server setup, the Linux kernel, and web applications. During the preceeding twelve years, Mr. Scott has worked with the Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Development Toolkit, Oracle Case, and other database design tools. He has created systems using a wide variety of techniques and methodologies including: object oriented analysis, design, and programming in C++, graphical user interfaces, third-party design and development software. Recently, he has worked with such diverse operating environments as AIX, HP-UX, VAX/VMS, SUN/UNIX, Linux, PC/OS-2, PC/MS-DOS, NT, and WINDOWS. Mr. Scott has participated in the development of data warehouses and repositories, advanced imaging prototypes, and new Information Engineering tools. He is trained in System Administration on both UNIX and VMS systems, as well as system programming on MVS systems. Experience includes: technical writing, project management, systems analysis, system architecture, system design, database administration, data administration, and system administration on Mainframe, minicomputer, and microcomputer systems.
