James Wing, (1758-1842), was a mariner as were his father and grandfather. He died in Milan, Dutchess Co., N. Y.
Also No. 38545. Tradition has it that James had his own ship and used it during the Revolutionary War to supply patriot troops. He was captured by the British during one of these ventures enroute to George Washington's camp in Newburgh, NY and was later released in a prisoner exchange.
