Note burial record spells name TIGGERS.
     Henry* Tigges immigrated on 1 December 1866; Pasenger list shows him traveling alone on the ship, Kosmos, Line 31, from Bremerhaven, origin Sachsen, Microfilm Serial M237, roll 274, List Number 1323.7 He appeared on the census of 1880 at Portland, Multnomah Co., OR; Note spelling of name on census transcription at FamilySearch is DEUS instead of Tigges. Henry is age 35, from Prussia, and working as a barber. He is living in his father-in-law's home with his wife Gussie b. Prussia and daughter Mary b. New York.8 Henry is working as a barber for Miller & Johnson in rooms 327 Front. In 1890 at Portland City Directory, Portland, Multnomah Co., OR.9

Lutheran Church, Jersey City, Hudson Co., NJ.2 Mary/Mamie Tigges died on 19 September 1957 at Town of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY, at age 81.1 She was buried after 19 September 1957 at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park, Dutchess Co., NY.
     Mary/Mamie Tigges appeared on the census of 1880 at Portland, Multnomah Co., OR; see Census detail in note for Carl/Charles Stark.3 Names associated with Mary Muller are Louise Sylvester, Fred, Eunice -- all of Eugene, Oregon or thereabouts. A letter addressed to Mr. C. Sylvester, 94 E. Baldwin St., Portland, OR, dated 2/13/1940, from T. J. Muller to Dear Francis and Charlie was returned undelivered. Letter was signed Cousin Mamie and Theo. Mary was raised by her father (her mother died in 1890). There was rumor of a French background, but no clear evidence as yet.

According to her marriage record, her birth date was 25 Dec 1873 and place was New York, NY. According to 1880 Census, she was 4 years old. Reference is made to "lst Luth" in marriage certificate.

Eunice Sylvester was a major source of information and photographs. It was a stroke of luck to find her in Beaverton, Oregon (in late 1997).

     John Tilden was born in 1545. He was the son of Richard Tilden and Elizabeth Glover. John Tilden married Patience Casslen, daughter of George Castlen and Anne (?). John Tilden died in January 1624/25.
