Ida's mother was his last wife. Sometime after Ida and her twin were born, he signed everything over to this wife and entered the Old Soldiers' Home. A census record confirms this. He served in the Civil War.
In 1870, Thirsten Lofland is found in St. George, New Castle County, Delaware.
In 1890, Trusten is in Locust Township, Christian County, IL with wife Emma, son William, daughter Ida. Some records also refer to Thurston (probably the same person.
A T. P. Lofland is mentioned in The 1876 History of Early Settlers in Sangamon County, IL by John Carroll Powers, pub. Edwin Wilson & Co.

Other delis were at 2078 8th Ave. (between 112th and 113th Sts.), NYC and 633 Columbus Ave. (between 90th and 91st Sts.), NYC. He was Lutheran. On 13 Oct 1913, because of arthritis, he left Manhattan with his wife and children and bought a farm in Stanfordville, Dutchess Co., NY. He was later cured of arthritis, according to his son, John Henry.
