Did the Bible prophesy of the events of September 11, 2001?

From: Evangelist Craig Moss & Backyard Ministries

God, the divine ruler and creator of the universe, has come upon many men over the past several thousand years, speaking His words with their tongues. Men of old have predicted many events that have come to pass; they have also predicted events that have not yet been seen. This practice of God speaking through man is called prophesy. There is a distinction between the words “Prophesy” and “Prophecy”. Prophesy is a verb, it means: to make predictions, especially by divine inspiration. Prophecy is a noun, it is defined as: something that is declared by a prophet, especially a divinely inspired prediction, instruction, or exhortation. This practice is not to be confused with fortune telling, tarot reading, Ouija and various other forms of divination. It is my intention to bring into the general scope of things, God’s prophets, and any revelations that were documented by them in the Bible concerning the shocking events of September 11, 2001, also known as “9-11”.

Did God know about the events of September 11, 2001? Absolutely! Did He try to warn us? Perhaps. Did He foretell of these events through prophets of old? For this answer keep reading..... These questions are pressing on the hearts and minds of many Americans. Newspaper tabloids are filled with unfounded so-called prophecies. The Internet is filled with this alleged foretelling. What is the truth?

First let us look at the historical setting of the World Trade Center. According to biblical numerology every number has a relative definition. The World Trade Center’s Twin Tower construction began in 1966, the very same year that Anton Szandor LaVey founded the Church of Satan. The Number 66 in the Numerical Principle of biblical hermeneutics represents “idol worship”. We can clearly see how the Church of Satan is certainly idol worship, What do we see when we look at the construction of The World Trade Center? Was it intended to be an Idol for worship? How was it viewed in the eyes of its creator?

"I feel this way about it. World trade means world peace and consequently the World Trade Center buildings in New York ... had a bigger purpose than just to provide room for tenants. The World Trade Center is a living symbol of man's dedication to world peace ... beyond the compelling need to make this a monument to world peace, the World Trade Center should, because of its importance, become a representation of man's belief in humanity, his need for individual dignity, his beliefs in the cooperation of men, and through cooperation, his ability to find greatness.” — Minoru Yamasaki

If we dissect Minoru Yamasaki’s comments, and compare them with the Bible, we certainly do find some disturbing points. The latter part of this comment is the most Biblically significant. It tends to carry the same thought pattern of the men in Genesis chapter 11 in Shinar:

“Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven, and let us make us a name;”

This is a reference to the tower of Babel, God was not pleased with man’s philosophy in the building of that tower and of that city, nor is he pleased with man’s philosophies today.

People who believe in the accuracy of Bible codes would like to somehow mystically link Isaiah 30:25 to September 11, 2001 and declare that the Bible did indeed predict that horrific event, but that is not accurate. There is however an indisputable literal link from what God said in this verse, to the tragic events of that date, which cannot be ignored:

“… in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall"

This link has been incorrectly referred to as prophecy of September 11, 2001, but there is no concrete evidence that this link is a remotely accurate reference. There are though several passages of scripture that along with this passage, describe God’s judgment and how the towers, and perhaps even the pentagon, fit into the equation. Some of these passages clearly address the issues of our day, as well as the tragic events of “9-11”.

In the book of Leviticus, chapter 26 we note a condition found often in the Bible, a condition in which God has delivered his people (Israel) to a land of freedom, no more to be under the yoke of bondage and the rule of the rest of the world (Egypt). God gave them a land in which He could be worshipped freely. He laid down the Law, and gave instruction to them regarding obedience, and disobedience. He tells them that if they become disobedient to Him, that He will punish them. He goes on to warn them that their continual disobedience will result in Him destroying their high places, and cutting down their images. God said that He would make their cities waste. He states that if they will not hear Him they will fall to their enemies. God also says that if they will confess their sins and iniquities that He will remember them and the covenant He made with their fathers.

In the book of Ezekiel, Chapter 26 we find God judging the city of Tyrus. Twice in this chapter He made reference to destroying their walls and breaking down their towers. When we look at the description of Tyrus in Chapter 27, we see a beautifully painted portrait of the United States today.

In Zephaniah, Chapter 1 we find God pronouncing judgment against the whole earth. He calls it the day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

It is apparent that when we turn against God in rebellion and iniquity, that we are opening the door for judgment. God has warned us many times over. He has been patient with this nation for many years. Lets review some facts:

Ø      Psalm 9 says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” This nation was founded as a Christian nation, where God could be worshipped freely. Since the times of the pilgrims, our forefathers, Prayer and Bible reading was considered just part of school life, until June 17, 1963 when the supreme court decided that it was unconstitutional. Our laws are changing every day as our rights and freedoms to worship are slipping into the past. A good example of religious freedom being violated would be the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas. If our Government decides that a church or religious group is not what they think it should be, they classify it as a cult, and violate the members religious rights.

Ø      The Bible says “Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person.” In 1973 our US Supreme court stripped precious little babies of the right to live, when they decided to legalize abortion in the Rowe v. Wade & Doe v. Bolton decisions.

Ø      Homosexuality is a sin. It doesn’t matter what you call it, or how you try to justify it, God’s Word says, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Ø       “Thou shalt not commit adultery.” William Jefferson Clinton committed adultery against his wife with an intern while serving in public office, he continued to maintain his position, and America accepted his sin.

We could write a book and still not be able to contain all of the pages of the examples of where the United States has walked away from God. As we have read, when God judges a nation he destroys the walled cities and breaks down the towers. The Pentagon, in Arlington Virginia is comparable to a walled city; it covers 34 acres of land. The “Twin Towers” were formerly the tallest Buildings in Manhattan, New York. The wall of the city was destroyed, and the towers were broken down. You do the math.

Perhaps the Bible did not make any specific prophetic revelation in reference to the tragic events of September 11, 2001, but the applicable references, and proven patterns of God’s judgment, which you have now been enlightened with, do explain God’s position concerning those horrific events, as well as the necessity of our correct response to those events.
