10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
In this message I want you all to notice a few points. First I want you to notice our "Situation Of Sin". Take a look with me at verses 10-19. Here we see out "Sin State" that we are all guilty before God. Everybody is guilty, and wicked by nature. In fact, Ephesians Chapter 2 and verse 3 states that before a person is saved, he is a child of wrath. "Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." Romans 3:23 declares that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Why are we all Sinners? Romans 5:12 says "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" Adam, our great... ? ...great grandfather sinned causing us all to be guilty, causing us all to be under sin. The next point we need to notice about our "Situation of Sin", is our "Sin Sentence". Romans 6:23 declares "For the wages of sin is death;" That death is the eternal death, what Revelation 20:14 calls the "second death". How do we arrive at this conclusion? Very simply, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." Revelation 21:8 says "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." It is apparant, and we can conclude by the authority of God's Word, that all men are guilty and worthy of that second death. That is why I call this our "Situation of Sin".
The next important point we need to look at, is that there is a "Satisfaction for our Situation of Sin". We see that in Romans 3:24-25 That Jesus became a "propitiation" for our sin debt. We are "justified freely by His grace". The word "propitiation" comes from the Greek word "hilasterion" which translates as "atoning - satisfaction for sin by which forgiveness is had." We see the same word "propitiation" in 1 John 2:2 "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.", and 4:10 "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." John 3:16 says that "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." What we see here in comparing scripture, is that God loves us so much, that he sent his only begotten Son. Jesus Christ is the only begotten of the Father. He also is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, God incarnate! Our Creator, the Lord God Jehovah, came down here to this world in the flesh, He lived a sinless perfect life, and died a lonely death on that hill called Calvary! But that is not all my friend, on that third day after His death, Jesus Christ broke the bonds of death, took the keys of hell from the devil and walked out of the grave victorious! He conquered death, hell and the grave, to save a bunch of wicked sinners who were not even seeking after him! He is the satisfaction for our sin debt!
Finally, we arrive at the third important point, "Salvation through Satisfaction for our Situation of Sin". Romans 3:26 declares it. He is the "justifier of him which believeth in Jesus" Romans 10:9-13 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 8:1 boldly declares "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Sinner friend, Jesus Christ payed the price for our sin debt, but we must believe in our hearts, and confess with our mouths, that He is Lord! We must be willing to serve Him, and we must repent from our sinful life! In Luke 13:3 & 5, Jesus declared "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Sinner friend, if you are willing to repent, and seek after God, If you believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He died for your sin debt, confess with your mouth! Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved! We are not promised a tomorrow, don't put it off! I can guarantee you upon the authority of God's Word, that if you are willing to repent from your wicked ways, aand you believe with all your heart, and confess with your mouth, as thus saith the Word of God, thou shalt be saved! You will never face that condemnation that sinners deserve. Give your life to God! Come as you are, Jesus Died for you!
