Gen 1:20-23

(20)                      And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

(Note 1: “Abundantly” = Swarm or abound – Heb: “sharats”)

The word “abundantly” is an indication that this was not progressive; this further refutes evolution, as evolution is the progressive change from one state to another over a vast period of time. “Abundantly” says that it was an instantaneous and massive population of sea life

We see “and the fowl that may fly above the earth”, this does not mean that the birds evolved from sea creatures! The “and” here is not a continuation of the “out of the water” thought, but more so of the “abundantly” thought.  We can se that thought more clearly if we look at the next verse

(21)                       And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

We see here a more defined “order of creation”:

a.      First we see that God created “Great Whales”, not whale eggs, not molecules, not baby whales…. God created “GREAT Whales” Huge, Large, Full-grown whales. This again is a refutation to evolution.

b.      Next we see: “every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly” This is specific to sea life.

c.      Next we see: “after their kind” again, another refutation to evolution. The creatures did not evolve into different species, they were created abundantly, after their kind. Bass, tuna, stripe, blue, shrimp, lobster, crab, etc. each after its kind!!! (Remember God creates, man mutates)

d.      Then, after the sea life was created after its kind, we see: “and every winged fowl after his kind”. This statement indicates nothing more than that fowl and fish were created on the same day. Notice the “after his kind” again no evolving done here, created as fowl: chicken, duck, pheasant, quail, vulture, hawk, eagle, conyer, cockatiel, bluebird, dove, etc. All were created after their kind!

(22)                      And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

Here we see a peculiar thought. They were made in abundance, and blessed to become fruitful, and multiply. Reproduction without death leads to overpopulation! Why did God make an abundance of animals and tell them to reproduce, when there was no death? This poses a curious thought. The answer can only be found in God’s Omniscient characteristic. God is all knowing. God knew there would be death one day because man (who He has not created as of yet) would fall to sin. God didn’t have to rethink things when man fell in the Garden, God prearranged creation to sustain man’s fall!!

Remember God is Eternal, He was in Eternity Past, and is in Eternity future and all that falls in between!!! He is the all Knowing or “Omniscient” God. Before you were he knew you:

(Jer 1:4-5) Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

God knew your future before you were born!

(Gen 25:22-27) And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bore them. And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

Since God knew He was going to create man, and that man by course would fall to sin, and that death would be the result of sin, He not only sent His son (Rev 13:8 “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world”), but He also set in his creation the ability to procreate, so that the world would not become barren. Praise His name!

(23)                      And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

In biblical numerology, five is the number of “Grace or God’s Goodness” on this day we see the Grace and Goodness of God manifested in his creation.

This Concludes the Fifth “Literal” Day
