WILSON
I am looking for any info on Will & Hester WILSON. Both Will & Hester
were born in TN. Hester was born abt 1867. They had 3 sons Sam, Fulton & Hllas. Hester
was a widow in the 1910 Census in Jackson County, AL. Her youngest son Hllas was born in
1910, TN and showed up on the 1910 Census in AL. He did not show up on any other
Census. I am assuming that they also moved to Alabama around that time. On the
1910 Census, Hester was living with her 3 sons. Hester, Fulton & Sam were working at the
Pencil Factory in Jackson County, AL. Her first son Fulton James Wilson was born 1892
in Tullahoma, TN. Her 2nd son Sam (my grandfather) was born in 1894 in Tullahoma, TN.
Both sons died in 1946 in AL. Sam died in Jan 1946. Hester was mentioned in his Obit.
She was living in Manchester, Coffee Co., TN at the time. Fulton died in Oct, 1946.
Hester was not mentioned. I believe Hester died in 1946. If anyone knows anything
about this family I would appreciate any information you have. Thanks

MINE ON OLD GREGORY PLACE?
I need info on a possible mine that existed on the old Gregory
place on Panhandle Road. Vance Goode purchased this farm and my
grandfather, William Logan Rice, bought it in 1956 from Mr. Goode.
The land ran at least 1/4th or more of a mile off the present
Panhandle Road, to within a short distance of 16th Model Road.
Interstate 24 now runs through the middle of it, and the Hullett's
purchased the part of the farm between 16th Model and the Interstate.
There was some sort of old mine on this property. I would like to
find more information on the mine. Bobo Amos recalled how he fell in
a "sinkhole" on top the hill overlooking the highway when he was a
kid, and saw ore cars and rails down there. Also, there is what seems
to be the remnants of an old water race between my grandfather's old
house (now owned by Dean Ellis), and the former Horace Crosslin farm
(now owned by Mr. Johnson). If anyone has info on just what sort of
mine this was, and when it was in operation, please contact me.

leaves Martha Redden and siblings as grandchildren. Martha Redden is

I am also interested in Samuel Wiley Redden married to an Elizabeth

ORRICK, ARRICK
I have a gap in Orrick/Arrick family history in 1870. They appear in
1850,1860 in Warren as ORRICKs, then in 1880 in Coffee as ARRICKs.
Some of the 1870 Warren census page are very dim, both
at Ancestry.com and the microfilm at my local library.
I'm wondering if they are hiding in there.
Are there better copies somewhere?
1860 in Warren shows Orricks: Jno 1826, Margaret 1830, Sarah 1848,

this assumption?
