BRUCE M. JOHNSTON, CISSP
Bruce Johnston is a Principal Security Consultant with 27 years of business experience as a management team member of Levitz Furniture Corporation. His experience includes 17 years as a Senior Systems Security and Telecommunications Manager in computer security and disaster recovery planning. He has extensive experience with systems auditing techniques, systems programming & analysis and electronic data processing operations. Bruce has led several seminars covering disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning and security awareness. He has IBM AS400, Unix and NT expertise and is experienced at conducting security assessments. Bruce authored a Text Management security article that was published in AS/400 Magazine. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and he has been a member of the Computer Security Institute, Independent Computer Consultants Association (ICCA), South Florida Chapter and the Miami IBM Users Group.

Johnston, CISSP, its President/CEO.  Mr. Johnston offers extensive experience in voice/data communications, as well as expertise in PC, NT and departmental security, risk analysis, business continuity  and disaster recovery planning, "hot-site" testing, software maintenance, controls & auditing, technical implementation and security awareness training.  He knows EDP auditing techniques, systems programming & analysis, electronic data processing equipment and all facets of business administration.

He has led several seminars covering disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning and security awareness.

  • BS, Business Management, San Diego State University, San Diego, CA,
  • Pursuing an MS in Computer Information Services at Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
  • Professional certification from the International Information Systems  Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2.
  • Developed computer security policies, disaster recovery plans and audits for the corporate office of Levitz Furniture and 135 nation-wide locations.
  • Developed a security strategy for Levitz Furniture.  Designed, implemented and maintained extensive, secure computer network for 6000+ users (local & remote).
  • Performed live annual testing of Levitz' Disaster Recovery Plan at an IBM Hot-Site in Sterling Forest, New York
  • Led disaster recovery seminars for Coopers & Lybrand and Datavault, Inc., EDP Auditors Association and Florida Atlantic University.  EDPAA training film is still in distribution.
  • Interviewed as an expert source by PCWeek Magazine, (latest Feb. and July, 1997).
  • Author of a Text Management security article in AS/400 Magazine.
  • Beta tested MCI's DirectlineMCI "Follow-me" platform; participated in an MCI training film used by MCI at executive level and training seminars.
