Business Continuity

Capabilities   Key Benefits

It is no longer sufficient that just the data center effect a recovery of computer systems following a disaster.  Gone are the days when an entire enterprise revolved around one computer, one set of data, at one site.    The modern day enterprise today is often physically spread out connected only by public communications lines.  Furthermore, virtually all business operations today are performed on computers:  Performed on either a mainframe, mini, or micro-computers.Risk Model

VGS, Inc. will aid management in defining all critical applications and assist your organization in creating a disaster recovery management team. Disaster recovery is an organization-wide concern and is not confined strictly to the IT department. All business units must be included in the plan for a successful recovery to full operating status.

Through one-on-one interviews with our CISSP certified consultants and your organization's key people, we assist you in analyzing potential "gaps" in a department's ability to recovery in the event of a disaster. A final written report will detail those "gaps" and suggest options to avoid a disruption in the event of any disaster.

A preliminary risk analysis is performed to identify business critical applications and functions. Once those functions have been identified and documented, we prepared a structured approach to disaster recovery for your organization.
In many cases, potential threats can be identified and preventative steps, policies and procedures put into place to prevent or minimize those known threats.

Experience has shown that the teams approach to disaster recovery is the most efficient and productive means to recover to normal business operations. History shows that organizations which do not recover in a timely manner, soon fail and go out of business. We institute and define each team's duties and responsibilities, integrate all teams into an organizational team, and establish an organization-wide training program.

All tasks are detailed in a project plan and that project plan will be securely located on this web site for all authorized team members to view. In this manner, we maintain the best communications possible in order to complete the project on time and within budget.

In the absence of any backup system, we develop business continuity procedures and disaster plans based upon a formal risk analysis for the full recovery of corporate and distributed information.  We also develop, execute and perform test Hot Site procedures, and conduct rehearsals with a vendor of your choosing to ensure their viability.

It has become a business necessity that all units within an enterprise be ready to continue their functions following a disaster.  Will your business survive the downtime if employees are ordered to leave an evacuation zone? Denied access due to chemical spills? Civil disturbances? Aircraft, highway or railroad accidents? We will assist you in creating a workable Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan to enable your company to survive a disaster.
