| I purchased my '87 Mustang GT Convertible around October of
'98, with huge plans. I
owned a '90 GT Hatchback purchased new but traded it in on a new '93 Ford Ranger Extended
Cab 4x4 with a 4.0 6-banger out of necessity. I missed my Mustang, especially
when that 5.0 would have come in handy! It was (as far as I can tell)
completely stock except for some exhaust work. I had retained many goodies
from my '90 in hopes of once again using them, nothing substantial, but at least they are
a start.
O.K! The restoration has begun! I have decided to go ahead and do it
like I want. The 302 is out and has been replaced with a '69 351w from what I
have determined from the books came from a Mustang Mach 1 or a GT350, so at least it's
staying in the 'Stang family. I have converted it Roller/E.F.I. to retain some
drivability. The estimated/planned output to start with is around 350-375+hp.
When most everything is done, I'm going to type up all the info I have gathered
and post it here on the website.
